A Guide To Buying A Mountfield Lawn Mower

 4 wheeled or rear roller Mountfield lawn mower?

 4 wheeled lawn mowers are usually cheaper than their rear roller counterparts. This is because there are many more four wheeled lawn mowers produced and the UK is the main market that uses rear roller lawn mowers so the unit production cost is higher. 

 Rear roller lawn mowers will leave stripes on the lawn that are more defined than the ones left by 4 wheeled lawn mowers. 

 Which deck should my Mountfield lawn mower have?

 There are 3 types of deck available on Mountfield lawn mowers. Plastic decks are the cheapest to produce and these decks can be found on the new Mountfield lawn mowers like the Mountfield HP414 lawn mower.

 Powder coated steel decks are next and these are heavier duty than the plastic decks. These types of deck can be found on models like the Mountfield S421 HP lawn mower and the Mountfield S461R HP lawn mower which also has a rear roller. 

 Aluminium decks are the most expensive, but they are heavy duty and are not likely to rust. For example models like the Mountfield SP555 lawn mower come with a 20 year anti-corrosion warranty. 

 Self Propelled or Push?

 If the thought of the lawn mower taking you for a walk then self propelled Mountfield lawn mowers are for you! Self propelled lawn mowers have a drive system that means it will drive either the front or back wheels. If your lawn is relatively flat or simply isnt that big, then a push lawn mower would be fine and self propelled lawn mowers are more expensive. 

 Which engine should my Mountfield lawn mower have?

 There are generally three brands of lawn mower engine you will come across on Mountfield lawn mowers. The first is Mountfields own range of engines which we have found to be as reliable as the other leading brands. Other engine options include Briggs & Stratton and of course Honda. Honda engines have a fantastic name in the world of lawn mowers.
